Venezuela crisis: Thousands cross into Colombia for food and medicine

Hundreds of people are crossing the border from Venezuela into Colombia every day to buy food and medicine.

The increased demand is placing a strain on health services in Colombia and crime has also gone up.

Al Jazeera’s Daniel Schweimler reports from the Colombian border city of Cucuta.

  1. "Venezuela has the largest oil reserves, and the eighth largest natural gas reserves in the world, and consistently ranks among the top ten world crude oil producers" -Wiki.

So what is Venezuela doing with all their oil production? wtf… They are either robbing themselves blind or someone else is.

  2. Obsesión with Venezuela, how about you guys cover also the murders of social workers that's happening every month in Colombia or the children who die of hunger in Colombia department of Choco.

  3. Hugo Chavez biggest mistake was not using the oil money to invest in other industries so that his country wouldn't be dependent on oil money.

  4. What is really sad is children suffering so much from starvation and the food riots and violence in the street. The government is sowing a generation of desperate, post-traumatic citizens, who one day will be in charge of the country.
